Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

served ... now what

I got served for a divorce. I would like to know what to expect at the court. When do they ask for the financial disclosures? Am I to assume that I'm suppose to bring all the information with me or will they have multiple court meetings?

Well, the first thing you need to check is whether your spouse has an attorney. If they do, you really need one yourself, or you are going to be real disappointed (and probably lose a lot). You have 30 days to respond to the complaint. Discovery is much too complicated to go through on LawGuru. A good way to look at it is the more you have, the less you should do yourself. If you have kids or a home, be very careful. As far as court dates, it depends. If the other side files motions, and notices them up, you have to attend those.
