''you got served!''

I am supposed to appear in court in two weeks, but I have not been served with papers so I have no idea what its about (except that it has to do with my ex taking me to court over our daughter).

Well, if you know you are to appear, then I would go to the courthouse, get your file, make a copy of the pleading, and appear for the hearing. Of course you can get an attorney to do all this. Do not blow it off, since she will try to convince the judge she properly served you, and if the judge agrees, will give her a default order that you do NOT want.
