Sex offender

I am a consern grandparent is a sex offender allowed to have custody of minor children in the state of IL? My grandchildren father took my daughter to court to get shared custody and the child live with him and it was granted. After the fact he inform her about about a lear later the he was a sex offender. He treated her in not seeing her children ever again. Is their anything that she can do. I search the internet for sex offender and his name came up. My grandchildren says that they want to come home with their Mother but their father father tells them that it will never happen. He will not keep in contact with my daughter when she plan things for them to do he tell her no. So we need some help!!!!! Thanks!

Contact the police department and DCFS and tell them what is going on.
