Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am the single mother of a wonderful 8 year old boy-I was never married to his father. I live in Cook County IL. My son lives with me and spends about 4 nights a month at his dads. He is court ordered to pay $41 a week child support. Took me four years to get him to court for said order. He went 4 years without paying a cent. He does have a vistation order in place. He has never taken him longer than 3 days. I have bent over backwards and strayed away from the visitation order to insure my son gets to visit with his Dad. rather than make him forfeit it. He has 3 kids, 3 different mothers and I am the only one that does not give him a hard time, i am the only one that talks to him period. Now he makes demands and trys to dictate my time with my son. It has turned into a daily harassment. He wants to sign up my son for programs that interfere with dr's and well our time(weekends). My son has ADHD/ODD, asthma, some eye problems-He see's 7 different drs on a regular basis. His dad only pays his $41 a week..pays 0 towards medical-child care-nothing ever extra! Now he is claiming that he is going to take me to court pro se and have the judge order me to take him to these programs and he also is going to file to be able to claim my son on his taxes. I cannot afford a lawyer. Are these things that a judge would order? I have lost sleep over this and need to know what my rights are. Thanks

He can file for anything but it is highly unlikely that any Judge would give him the kind of order he is seeking. Start looking for a legal aid agency such as Chicago Legal Aid or Pro Bono Advocates, also you should try and find out everything you can about his sources of income and prior child support orders. Plan on asking the court to increase the amount of child support and getting medical insurance and contribution. Good luck to you.
