Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Sleeping arrangements with non-custodial parent

My ex-husband does not have a bed

for our 8 year old daughter to sleep in

while she visits. He has her sleep with

him. I've discussed with him the need

for her to have her own bed, but he

has not gotten it yet. What can I do to

force him to provide her a bed? I've

offered him beds from our home, but

he doesn't want them, citing no room

for another bed.

Re: Sleeping arrangements with non-custodial parent

Hello. Your only option, in my opinion, is to

go back to court and ask the judge to order your

ex-husband to get a separate bed for your daughter. This will have to be done in the form

of a motion setting forth all of the facts. I

suggests you get a lawyer to represent you. Dad

needs to understand that your 8 year old daughter

needs separate sleeping arrangements. I will be

happy to answer any additional questions that you

might have.
