Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Want sole custody... Husband is an addict
I recently found that my husband is an addict, and brought drugs into our house. My son and I left, and went to my mom's house.
I want sole custody of my son. I am paying for all of his expenses, I make plenty to support us.
I do not condone drug use, and my child has no business being around someone who is using.
What should I do?
Thanks

You should get yourself an attorney, file for divorce, and tell the Court you want full custody because your husband is a drug user.
Everything you have said - your income, you being the mother, your husband's drug use - are all marks in your favor at a custody hearing. But there are plenty of pitfalls in the process that make it advisable for you to have an attorney to represent your interests. If you do everything right, there is a good chance you will get sole custody on these facts.

I suggest you seek to file a divorce. The process will not be quick nor without emotion.
