sole legal custody

i have sole legal custody of my son. His Step mother and father wnet behind my back to the school for a Parent teacher conference. Does he have that right to do that without my permission since i have sole custody?

Believe it or not, this can be a complicated question. First, the court is concerned first and foremost with the best interest of the child. So you will have to show that such acts by your ex spouse is not. If you feel it is not, you can get an order from the court preventing such visits without your notice and/or approval. I would add that your ex-husband is also your child' father, so he should be involved (unless there is a concern regarding his suitability as a parent). However, often when I see the behavior you mentioned, it is not being done for the child but to play games with the custodial parent.
