Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My son has just finished 2 years at the junior college and has been excepted to southern in Illinois his father paid 1 year and I paid the 2nd year the money I used was from my 401K that is now closed out. My son applied for loans and grants and a little over half is cover for his school and the rest is out of pocket for us. I do not have the money no matter how I figure it out there is just no money I have sat down and have gone over the money I have coming in and the money that I'm paying out. would I be forced by the court to pay when I don't have money to pay?
