Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

my son is 17 years of age. his mother was awarded the primary custodian in the divorce. that was seven years ago. he doesn't feel he is being treated fairly under her. he has been hinting that he wants to move out of her house. can he petetion the court for his own right to choose where he would like to stay? he would receive the $600 monthly settlement his mother gets from me. is there an age when my son can actually speak for himself instead of being used just for a payment?

you can seek his custody. He is not already emancipated so I doubt he can seek emancipation. Only a divorce court can stop your child support.
