Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My son's biological father has no visitation rights established. I basically want to know how I can have his parental rights terminated. He has an extensive criminal record including a few incarcerations and has a problem with drugs. Do those things help my case out at all. I have not taken any legal action yet because I didn't want to look like an idiot that doesn't know what she's doing. And I do not recieve but 10 dollars a month in child support and that is not even from the non-custodial parent..it is from the state for unemployment. Thanks!!

As far as i am aware, rights are only terminated in an adoption. As long as the kid is his and he is paying support (or someone on his behalf) unless he is abusing the kid he is entitled to see the kid.
