Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

spouse hiding money during divorce

is there precedence regarding recourse when a spouse hides money from the court that is found after the dissolution?

my wife filed her financial statements to the court stating no retirement savings, since then i've received a statement showing she transferred the balance to another account.

there is no mention of waiver or agreement on any retirement accounts in our dissolution.

Re: spouse hiding money during divorce

If your wife was knowingly hiding money from the court, then you can go after your fair share. Your wife may also be subject to penalties (such as paying your legal fees to go back to court).

Please feel free to call us if you want to talk about your case.
