Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

new spouse and old taxes debt

I am considering remarrying, but have a huge irs debt from s previous marriage. Can the irs go after or take any tax returns from a new spouse, if we shall marry? He is starting up a new business and I don't want to hinder it in any way.

Generally, you may be able to shelter your new spouse as long as you properly plan and have a good prenuptial agreement. The key is the prenup.

Earlier this year, I wrote a prenup for someone in a similar situation. Feel free to contact me if you would like to set up a free consultation.
