Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

So if the state of IL treats child support seperate from visitation rights and I take my babys father to court for child support then does this mean he would have to take me to court to get visitation rights or would he automatically get visitation if he is paying support? He has been arrested before domestic violence and I am scare for me or my baby to be around him.

He will have to bring up the issue of visitation. Then you can fight it if he is actually a danger to the child.
