Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Hi I am a staying home mom of 2 and 6 years old in case of divorce can my husband make me live the house ( we live with his mother) with no money and no car since is on his name?

Hi. I don't know his finances or your finances, but under Illinois law he would most likely be required to: (1) pay you child support; and (2) probably some alimony to help you get a new place to live.

Every since shortly after the Civil War, involuntary servitude has been unconstitutional. He cannot make you live in the home, or anywhere for that matter. You will get child support and perhaps alimony to help you. Once you begin the divorce and start receiving support, you can afford to live on your own.
