Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
stepparents
What rights or input do stepparents have? In this specific case, stepparents spouse has no guardianship. Does the stepparent have a right to be at school meetings for example or can they be asked to leave?

Re: stepparents
absent a court order, they can be asked to leave. There is no recognizable relationship, legally, between the child and step-parent. You have to get the court to decide its in the best interest of the child otherwise.
