Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I want to stop my ex-wife from visitation rights with our 2 year old while she i
My wife was sentenced to 40 years for the murder of her child. Now her lawyers are fighting to force me to continue to bring our two year old daughter to the prison for visitation by way of a court appointed supervisor, in order to finalize our divorce. I don't want my child to have to be subjected to prison visits or to even become familiar with such dangerous conditions. Does anyone have any advise for me to begin my fight?

First bit of advice, get a lawyer. This is a complex issue where legal help could be imperative. Second, courts base visitation on the best interests of the child. That is what you need to focus your fight upon. How would this affect your child.

I agree with the previous response. The court's main goal is to do what is in the best interests of the child. The general mindset at which to come at the subject is if it is healthy to expose a child of tender years to the harshness of a prison.
Very truly yours,
