Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

subpoena for family members information

My sister, who is in process of divorce, is living with me along with her 3 year old child. Can her husbands attorney subpoena any of my personal records i.e. checking account, grocery store purchase records, etc?

Re: subpoena for family members information

In my opinion, your brother-in-law's attorney should not be allowed to subpoena your information, etc. You need an attorney to go

into court on your behalf and ask the court to

"quash" this summons because its demands will

violate your privacy and are irrelevant to the

divorce proceedings. Will be happy to discuss

this with you further.
