Re: Teen Emancipation

There is no form for teen emancipation. You don't state the details of her emancipation or her age. If you sign a consent for her to marry or join the military service, you have emancipated her. If she leaves your home, supports herself, makes her own decisions regarding where she lives, and with whom, etc., she is emancipated. There are no specific forms. If she is too young or too immature to manage her own affairs, you cannot avoid parental obligations by merely declaring she is emancipated. For further advice, consult with the state Dept. of Children & Family Services, a family law attorney, local family assistance agency, etc.
