Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

temporary child custody

We have a drug addicted daughter who has three children 16,10 and 4. They have lived with us most of there lives on a off and on basis. In the past my daughter went into a rehab program and we had her sign a power of attorney, which was accepted whereever we used it.She has agreed to sign another for the year 2007. Is this what we need or is there another form or action we need for this situation? Thanks

Re: temporary child custody

I am surprised that you are able to use a power of attorney when it involves the custody of children. What you need is a guardianship. Then you will have full legal powers. Please call for a free consultation.
