time limits on petition for temporary custody

my husband filed for dissolution of marriage and temp. custody of our twins six months ago. how long is this order in effect if he does not persue it?he told me he only did this to keep me from taking them for visitation and has no intention of following through with the divorce.please let me know how long he can legally keep them. thanks.

Since this case was filed so long ago, I suggest that you sit down with an attorney yesterday to search the court file to find out what has happened. Don't go by what your husband has said, you need to have this looked into immediately.
