Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

tricked into legal guardianship by grandma

My mother started the process to obtain legal guardianship without my or my husband's permission. She came to us using the pretense of helping us by providing med. insurance for our daughter, but she said she had to have guardianship first. I was away at the time, and was unable to have a lawyer explain the papers to me. We now need to have the order removed, and found out that she has more rights than she informed us of. We want her out of our lives permanently, due to this and other issues. Does she have any rights? Will she be able to take our daughter if she dosen't agree to the termination? What are our rights?

Re: tricked into legal guardianship by grandma

You must get back into court and explain why you didn't object after you were given notice, then fight to get her back.
