Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Unborn child Mother and I not together anymore

My Ex-girlfriend and I are expecting a child. She left me in mid January and I have found out that she is now around 3 months along. The two of us weren't together that long, but we now have a child on the way. While we were together she would threaten me with never getting to see my child. And she has since told me very little about the things concerning the child. She has told me that her mother told her not to tell me or anyone in my family anything about the child. She has told me some things, but I still wish to know more. She has sonogram pictures and I would like to have a copy of the pictures, but she refuses to let me have copies. I am concerned about the wellfare of my child. I know that she has gone and got two tattoos since she was pregnant, and she had also told me that she had taken two prescription pain medicines that her mom gave her before her mom knew she was pregnant. I want to be a part of my childs life, but I don't know if my childs mother is willing to let me. Is there anything I can do to make sure I have rights to my child and be able to find out information about her pregnancy

If you want to be a part of your child's life, and the mother is resistant, you must file an admission of paternity petition in court. Please call for an appointment.
