Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Unborn child mother's rights

Good Afternoon. Can the father of my unborn child obtain full custody of my baby? He makes far more money than I do, I make $800.00 every 2 weeks to his $5000.00. I have been in the same apartment for the past 4years, same job for the past 4 years...and he has basically been evicted from his last townhouse in January 2008 for not paying on time, has recently been arrested for a DUI and served a month in jail work release, and had a previous DUI a year before that he was still fighting in court. In total he has had 3 DUI's in 3 yrs..he fell asleep behind the wheel at a stop light in all of them. Nice huh? He jumps from job to job..though is very successful at it. He is very intimidating and always threats that he will make my life a living hell. That I will be sorry when gets shared custody where he wont have to pay any child support. He says I will fall on my face because I dont make much $. What are my options? What should I do? He makes my life a living hell now, I can't imagine forever with him nor having my child go through his mood swings. I dont know what to do. He is the type that will spend thousands on going to court to win, I dont have that kind of money. Should I move?Should I list him as the father?

Re: Unborn child mother's rights

Unborn children are not considered people in America. They are nothing more than a piece of the mother who has complete control over what to do with the unborn baby. Once the child is born, he can try to get custody. But all the money in the corld will not overcome the (real world) presumption that the mother should be the residential parent. He would likely get visitation, but would also have to pay 20% of his net income to you
