Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Unpaid Child Support from 1985 to current

I got divorced from my ex-husband in April 1985. At that time he was ordered to pay $45.00 a week for child support for three kids. I never received anything for years and then about 4 years ago, i received a monthly child support check for 1 year and then it all stopped again. No letters of explanation or anything. My ex has received workman's compensation and has received settlement payments, I received nothing, i think he is currently on disability. I was on Public Aid when the kids were little and couldn't afford to take him to court (he wouldn't show anyway). What can I do now? My youngest was not included at the time of the order and she is now 19. What can I do??

You should contact the Illinois Department of Public Aid because they offer child support collections in addition they can let you know if anything can be done in your case with out you having to pay an attorney.
