Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Vacate of Dissolution of Marriage

I was legally divorced without my ex-spouse knowing because I could not locate her. Once she found out she filed a order which was granted to Vacate the dissolution of marriage. I remarried right after my divorce was granted and prior to th ex-wife's vacate of dissolution order being granted by the same judge that gave me my divorce. Can my divorce be thrown out and over-turned after I have remarried?

Re: Vacate of Dissolution of Marriage

Your divorce can be vacated, as is apparent in what you said in your question, but I suggest you consult an attorney. Was the divorce itself vacated or was there a division of property that was vacated? The fact is if you want a divorce, your ex can't stop you, she can only delay it.
