Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

verbal power of attorney

I am going through a divorce, we had agreed upon me getting a certain verhicel and all the debt that went with it. it was titled in both of our names. i told her i was going to trade it in, and may need her to sign the title, she said she didnt have the time to come to the dealership, but she gave me her permission to sign her name as I always had in the past on different forms. now more than a month later she is trying to say she never gave me permission, and is raising a stink about it, what are the ramifications, and/or did i have verbal power of atty?

Re: verbal power of attorney

You forged your soon to be ex'es name on a state issued document dealing with a car, and you wonder what the ramifications are? One, its a crime. two, its incredibly dumb. You better just give in to what she wants and ask her not to call the police.
