Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Visitation/ Custody Change

I am the mother of a ten year old child. I was not marred to the father of my child. When we seperated in 1996, we entered into a joint custody agreement. This was terminated in June of 1998 at the request of the father, and I was given custody. In Decemember of 1998, he filed a request to terminate his parental rights. In approximately June of 1999 he changed his mind once again and wanted visitation. This was the case until July 2003, at which time he is requesting to alter his visitation schedule once again. This time he is requesting additional visitaion. My question is there anything that can be done to prevent this? I have already spent $15,000 on attorneys and at this point am representing myself.

Re: Visitation/ Custody Change

Usually, the only way to change visitation/custody is if there has been a change in the circumstances that change what the child's best interests are. Bring it up to the judge.
