Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Visitation

My daughter's father didn't come in to her life until recently(only after my husband had a petition for adoption). He begged and pleaded with the court for visitation rights and now he don't even bother to show up. I didn't want the visits to start, it was something that the court ordered. The fact that out of 20 visits, he has shown up 2 times, and doesn't pay child support,is there anything that can be done to reduce or stop his visitation?

Re: Visitation

Hello -

If your child's father does

not show up for visitation

as scheduled, you can petition

the court to bar him from

visitation because the court

will view that as putting

unnecessary stress on your

child, only to be disappointed

when he does not show up.

He can definitely be made

to pay child support and

you should certainly have

representation throughout

this whole court proceeding.

I hope my answer is helpful.
