Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
visitation after order of protection
I have sole custudy of my three children. My oldest son, who is 15, has had an order of protection against his mother for the last 22 months. She hit him at his last visitation in February of 2005. She has had an alcohol problem. The OOP is about to expire and my ex-wife expects my son to start coming back over for visitation. He wants nothing to do with her and does not want to see her. Does he have to? My paperwork only mentions the visitation of the younger two children.

Re: visitation after order of protection
Hello. If the Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage says that your 15 year old son is to visit with mom, then you will need to go to Court to have the Judgment modified because of mom's violence against him
2 years ago. This is a very serious
matter because your son has clearly
expressed himself. I can understand your concerns. Be careful to consider all the issues here. You definitely need legal representation. I will be happy to discuss this with you further.
