Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Visitation/child custody
My husband has an ex girlfriend that he has twin boys with. My husbands father got into trouble with drugs, which in turn made my husbands ex gf tell my husband that he could not see their kids. She went and got a bogus restraining order on him, everytime he tried to see his boys she called the police and he went to jail. After a while not being able to see his children, he just decided to leave town. He has not seen them in about 4-5 years. I have 5 children myself and he is very good to them and he is not a violent person or a drug user. Recently we heard that his ex gf lost her kids because a drug arrest, well no one ever contacted my husband and his name is on the birth certificate, we hear they are living with one of her family members. We live in Indiana and they all live in Illinois. How do we find out where they are and proceed to at least get visitation rights. We don't want to uproot them since it has been so long but he would like to build a relationship with his sons. Please help us!!!

You should try contacting Children and Faily Services in the county where they live or where you beleive that they lived. Good luck

In Illinois you would have to file a petition with the court for visitation. Please call me for a free consultation.
