Wedding Ring Given as a Birtday Gift
Does the ex-groom have rights to the ring if it was also given as a Bithday gift?

Re: Wedding Ring Given as a Birtday Gift
If the wedding ring was given as a wedding ring, i.e. in contemplation of marriage, then if the marriage was called off, the ring is the only thing that the woman must give back. From the sound of the question, it appears a woman asked this an is asking about her own situation. My response is, the class act would be to give a gift meant for your marriage back to the guy. Legally he did not get the benefit of the bargain and thus what he gave you for it should be returned. Many women do not return the ring, and if the guy pursues the issue, the courts will order her to give it back.
