Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
My wife has filed for a divorce. We are both still living in the same house. She has filed a petition for exclusive possession of real estate. My wife's attorney called me on my personal cell phone and told me that he want's me to hit my wife so he can throw me out of the home. Taken back by what he said I stated Mr. _____ surely you don't mean that? He repeted "No I do, I want you to hit your wife so I can throw you out of the home". My wife did not believe me and called me a liar. So when we met in a conference room in the court house I confronted him with that statement with "An officer of the court telling me to commit a felony by hitting his spouse so you can throw him out of the house" He responded with "I may have said that, but I don't think it would be a felony, well maybe". There were a total of four people in the conference room to witness that.
I don't have counsel I filed my response Pro-Se.
Do I have recourse and/or did he commit an unlawful act or ethics violation? I'm in the State of Illinois.
Thank You for your time!

If you feel an attorney has committed malpractice, you may submit a complaint to the IL ARDC and they will investigate the situation.
