Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My ex wife recently remarried and my 10 year old daughter who has been having a rough time is now living with me. However the ex does not want to sigtn any papers saying that she lives with me. We are wanting to send her to school with us a different school district, yet the ex wife constantly changing her mind. She wants us to care for her over the summer but is refusing to give us back child support or any type of paperwork saying that we have primary physical residence. My daughter is emotionaly upset and cannot handle any more moves like this. What can WE do, I cannot afford a lawyer on my own and do not think I can get bro bono help.

The only thing you can do is seek relief from a court, either with an atty's assistance or doing it yourself. Your ex-wife is entitled to the support until a court order is entered changing it. She does not have to "give you back" any money. Maybe your daughter's problem is the conflict you and your ex are putting her in. Tell it all to the Court and it must resolve it.
