Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My wife and I are currently separated ( not legally though). I pay her child support for all 3 children ( only 2 are mine). I have also paid bills for her. We recently filed taxes and received the money in which she kept the full amount. We went to her bank, she deposited a portion of the money and the rest was cashed. I didn't ask for the money right away because we were to take and drop my car off and spend time together as a family. She then called me and said she wasn't giving me any of the money. Now she is asking why I haven't paid child support for this week. What can I do? She has taken over $3000 and threatens to get a lawyer and a divorce if I don't pay. I didn't agree to give her that money. Will she owe that money back when we go to get a divorce? Also, would the court take into account that I have paid many of her bills and our joint bills during this separation? Please help

You are not mandated to pay child support except under court order. She buffaloed you into signing over $$$$ that you didn't need to.

Until someone files for divorce, there's little advice I can give on what to do since you're technically still married.
