Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My ex wife and I have shared custody of our 5 year old, but i only get him Tuesday and thursdayafter school (430) until i drop him off at 7pm. I also have him every other weekend starting at 7pm on Friday and ending at 6pm when i have to drop him off. Because of these hours I am never able to take him on vacation and my ex wife refuses to let me keep him longer. I want more time with my child. I feel like the only way I can do anything with him is if she says it is ok. She has been breaking the agreement quite a bit lately--leaving town with him and not informing me, picking him up early, etc. What can I do to re-establish my role as a joint parent, get more time with my son, and make it so we can have vacation time?

You should be abiding by your parenting agreement. That parenting agreement should also include time for you to go on vacation. Bring the matter back before the judge to discuss the violation of the agreement by your ex, and also bring up that you want to modify the agreement so that you can take some vacation time. www.illinoislawforyou.com
