Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

will

How do you ask for a copy of my parents WILL from your siblings.

My parents have passed away, and no one contacted me regarding my parents WILL. I live in a different country from my parents. I've asked my siblings but they do not reply to my emails and ignore me completely. Can I send a legal notice, kindly reply what steps can I take in this regard, who to contact and how to ask. Thank you very much for your help.

Re: will

You need to have an attorney on the record in the jurisdiction where the will is being read so your rights can be protected.

An attorney, once retained, can go to the court and figure out what is going on, then fight for your rights.

Re: will

If there was a will it was required to be filed with the probate court within 30 days of the date of death. If it was not this is a crime.

Check with the local probate court.

If not, open an estate as administrator to collect.
