Legal Question in Medical Leave in Illinois

Pregnancy and work

I was wondering if it is legal for a company to ''terminate'' you for having a child while being there. I am 8 weeks pregnant and due in December. I started my job in January and they are telling me that I will be terminated and then I could be rehired for the same postion at a later time but I wouldlose all my benefits and have to take my training over. I don't think thats fair.

You may have a claim under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. You should be advised that we obtained the second highest verdict for a pregnancy/FMLA case in Chicago in the case of Buffone v. Rosebud Restaurant, which we tried to verdict last September. You should contact me upon immediate receipt of this e-mail.
