Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

appeal of judgment

judgment made on a settlement where the terms had not even been agreed to nor signed. The only thing signed was a three line agreement to pay a $amount, no consideration for that amount was noted. and the statement that said ''the parties will prepare and execute a detailed settlement agreement describing the terms of the settlement on or before 12/31/07.'' this did not happen and the party who was to be paid $ asked for a judgment because the other party would not agree on the outlandish terms they proposed. How can this be appealed we have 2 weeks left for the 30 day limit.

Re: appeal of judgment

Was this a default judgment? Was an evidentiary hearing or trial held? You must file your notice of appeal on time. You have not told us enough to know what grounds for appeal exist.
