Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Bible verse sign

I put a sign on my property that I put diferant Bible verses on evey other day. The city ordinance reads''Accesory building or use customarily incidental to the abowe uses, not inbolbing the conduct of a business, including a church, school, or bulletin board or a similar sign not exceeding ten square feet in area appertaining to the lease, hire or sale of a building or land, or the sale of products grown only on the premises, provided that not more than one sign of the abowe character shall be permitted upon any lot; provided that any accessory building is not constructed prior to beginning construction of the main buildings.'' My sign is four feet by six feet. My sign contains no advertisement, only Bible verses and/or Christian sayings. Am I breaking this ordinance?

Re: Bible verse sign

Please give me the exact citation for the ordinance/statute. It appears from the language you cited that the sign you are displaying would be ok, unless it violates some constitutional provisions relating to stirring up violence, etc. I can give you a better response if I actually read the statute. Good luck.
