Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

collecting on a judgement

I sued my daughter for taking out a loan against my property illegally. I won a judgement for $26,000 plus costs. It cost me $2000 to do this. Now Im stuck with a worthless peice of paper and cannot collect. Her husband put all the cars and home in his name in order to protect her. Is there anyway for me to collect from the husband? My attorney wants an additional $1200 to do an asset search on my daugher although he knows every thing she owns is in her husbands name. She is taking babysitting jobs making $450 a week cash so I cant collect on the judgment. Im frustrated and angry that I paid out all this money to sue her, and it got me nowhere. Ive waited two years and still cant get a dime from her, and this was all my savings that I had. Any suggestions on how I can get my money back from her or her husband. After the judgement was made, we found out her husband was involved in the loan, he signed his name on every document. We werent privledged to these documents at the time of the lawsuit. But my attorney says we cant go after him and I dont understand why ?

Re: collecting on a judgement

Two thoughts. First, you may be able to collect the judgment from the cars and home in husband's name if you can prove that they were put into his name to defeat your claim. This is called a fraudulent conveyance. Second, why not go after the lender?
