Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
A contract was signed in Illinois for the purchase of a puppy. The contract, along with $500 deposit was sent to the breeder in Ohio. The breeder is now refusing to sell us a puppy and refusing to reimburse the $500. The contract does state if the breeder refuses to sell us a puppy she would refund the deposit. What county would have jurisdiction? The county where the contract was signed or the county the contract was sent w/ the deposit?

You don't say whether the contract provided for an agreed venue, but assuming it does not, probably either location would have and exercise jurisdiction.
