Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Credit reference

My sister used my Husband and I for a credit refernce, however she has become deliquent, and her creditor continues to call my house, I was told that they will not stop calling until my sister returns their call. Can her creditor continue to call and harass my Husband and I?

Re: Credit reference

Next time you get a call, ask the name of th person, the name of the company, their full address and send a certified mail with return receipt requested directing the company to not call you again and that any comunication they want to have with you to be in writing otherwise you will contact the Federal Trade Commission and make a complaint.

This should do the trick. And if they call you back, remind the person of the letter and tell them the date they have signed for the letter and hang up.

If calls continues (I doubt they will) then you can file a complaint and you may have a cause of action in civil law.

Hope this helps,
