Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

defendant doesn't file on time

defendant's attorney doesn't file any motions before the day of court, then proceeds to ask the court to grant his motion. Is this proper procedure since I am pro se and I have to research info before I can respond in court?

Re: defendant doesn't file on time

There should be notice of motions. Look up your local court rules for Cook County and the Illinois Supreme Court Rules. Good luck.
