If you have been subpoenaed there is no limit in distance that you have to travel. But, you are entitled to your travel expenses in full. Inform the person who has issued the subpoenaed about the cost of your travel and request payment before you appear at the deposition.

I hope this helps,

Generally, the deposition should take place in the county in which you reside, are employed or in which you transact business in person.
