After being divorced for 35 years I would like my maiden name back. How can I change it legally, and will it cost me anything, because I am unemployed.

State court is run by County. Your County will have a procedure for name changes. When a lawyer represents you there normally is a filing fee. If you do this representing yourself (it is called pro se) there may not be. Check with the clerk of the court in your county about fees and also the procedure for a name change. Good luck.
