Re: In Illinois valet liabilities

Usually, when one parks in a private lot by valet parking, the ticket issued by the valet has a lot of disclaimers on the back, among which is usually a statement saying that the establishment, the parking lot owner, and the valet company are not responsible for damages to vehicles. Usually, the valet service is a separate company from the establishment which has a contract to provide valet services to patrons of the establishment. If you haven't done so already, document your damages, take pictures of it, and submit your complaint to the valet company. However, don't hold your breath, as many of these companies have been known to ignore such complaints. You might be better served by submitting your claim to your insurance company.
