Judgment

Can your be charged interest on a judgment that you have when the judgment was originally from an automobile loan which you were charged interst on the loan. I have been charged for the judgment amount and attorney fees and costs. The attorney is now ading interest the the balance and I am paying on the judgment on a monthly basis.

Yes. Interest on the judgment begins from the date the judgment has been entered. The fact that you haev paid interest on the loan is a different issue and is not connected to the issue of judgment. However, the fact that it is lawful to charge interet does not mean that the interest MUST be charged. You may talk to the lawyer and try to negotiate a lower interst (%9 is the statutory amount) or another arrangement.
