Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
Name Changes
My legal given name, is different from the nick name everyone calls me. Can i choose to go by this nick name on credit cards, professional licensure, drivers license, etc..., or do i have to continue having a ''legal'' name, and then the one i prefer to be called?

You can be known by two names. However, it is probably better to get your name changed by a court. It can cause a problem sometimes with probate issues, etc. It is an easy process and would save you any potential problems down the road..
