Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

He says he has a ''Right'' to live in my home

My home and all utilities are in my name only. My boyfriend use to give me a couple of hundred dollars each month for food, utilities and mortgage, he hasn't paid anything in over a year.

Money isn't an issue, the relationship is long over but he won't leave. I've asked/told him to leave repeatedly and he laughs and says ''it's my home you can't make me leave''. I would like to resolve the issue before it gets any worse. Is there anything that I can do?

Contact the police and have him remove from the premises. He is a trespasser if you already have told him to leave. The home is in your name--you own it. You have the right to evict him.

Good luck,
