Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
I lived with my now ex-boyfriend for three years. I moved out five months ago he has harrassed me ever since but I have never turned him in for it he is now telling me I have to pay him every month for his credit card bill. He has with this credit card a pool liner for the pool sitting in his yard, a washer and dryer sitting in the house he owns, landscaping in the front yard of the house he owns, and flooring in the house he owns. He is telling me if I do not help him pay for these things even though the credit card and the house are in his name he will take me to court. Is he allowed to do this I do not have the money to go to court and he is doing this just to harrass me is there anything I can do about it? Can he actually take me to court for this and does he have a chance?

Bottomline, of course he can take you to court. Whether he would win is another question. Based on the facts provided, he is not likely to win.
Your boyfriend has what is called, 'the burden of proof'. As Mr. Padove has pointed out, he still has to PROVE to the court that you owe him. Unless he has evidence such as contracts, signed agreements, receipts, etc..., it will be difficult for him to prove his case.
